The Nepal charismatic manifestation was not unique!

The manifestation of charismata, which recently occurred in Nepal, is not solely confined to Nepal or any other underdeveloped nation. Nor was the exercising by the Holy Spirit of His charismata in Nepal an event restricted to the ministry of a few believers.

What occurred in Nepal had everything to do with compassion and ministering to the needs of others and nothing to do with self-glorification by either myself or those with me. It is the Lord’s will that all His sons and daughters minister in faith to all He sends them to, whether in distant lands or local suburbs.

The Holy Spirit’s will  to exercise His charismata has nothing to do with location, people being more receptive, people having more faith, sinlessness on the part of the participants, etc. Rather, what occurred in Nepal was rooted in compassion for the lost and ministering to the physical and spiritual needs of others.

It is a misconception on the part of some Western Christians to believe that manifestation of the charismata occurs only in developing nations – I would like to put such a notion to flight. Manifestation of the charismata, as and when the Holy Spirit wills (1Cor.12:11), can occur in any place, at any time, through any Christian.

It is my opinion that all repentant, immersed, believers need to embrace by faith the fullness of “the promise” of (Joel 2:28-29; Acts 2:16, 2:33) and live in the context of it as Peter stated we should, Acts 2:38-39. Then while we declare the gospel to those who are dead in sin (Eph. 2:1-10), we will begin to witness the charismata that accompany such preaching, just as it did in the first century.
