Political discrimination verses Christ’s disciples

“A Christian nurse from Weston-super-Mare has been suspended from her work for offering to pray for an elderly patient. Caroline Petrie, a community nurse and devout Christian, is facing dismissal for an alleged breach of her code of conduct on equality and diversity.

Mrs Petrie, who is a married mother of two, has been accused by her employers of failing to demonstrate a ‘personal and professional commitment to equality and diversity’ because of her offer of prayer.

She was suspended, without pay, on 17th December 2008 and will find out the outcome of her disciplinary meeting this week. She says she has been left shocked and upset by the action taken against her.”

Daily Telegraph: Nurse suspended for offering to pray for elderly patient’s recovery

This story is making headlines throughout the world; praise God!  This disciple is making a stand for Christ, which is worthy of great note.

What I discerned about the situation is highlighted in blue. The issue is not about one Christian compassionately giving herself to a patient in need; it is about her doing it in the name of Jesus.

It would appear that the authorities would have all gods included in the prayer or, at worst, no prayer at all. As far as they are concerned Jesus is to be recognized as merely a god among gods!

The truth is; we are going to see more and more of this type of discrimination across the world.

True disciples of Christ cannot comply with such political correctness. They gave their lives to Jesus Christ who alone is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to God but by Him, John 14:6. True disciples of Christ cannot but pray in the name of Jesus for they know no other way to God. They recognize no other truth. They recognize no other life by which they are saved from sin.

PS: Is this the latest push for a universal religion in this song entitled “Born-Again American”. I would like to read your comments on this. (Take special note of all the religions represented among the singers) : http://www.bornagainamerican.org/

Bob, I could not agree with you more. This kind of behaviour is becomming more and more common accross the world. I have not doubt at all that we are living in the last days and that this is merely the fulfillment of prophecy from Gods Word about how we, as Gods children would be treated and how in the last days everyone would be doing what seemed to be right in their own eyes. I will be sending your messge to my mailing list of 20,000 subscribers tomorrow evening.

It is difficult times, but in difficult times we all grow and bloom in the things of the Lord.
Thanks for send the article further afield.

I am writing this in response to the article concerning the nurse and for any of you that may have become afraid after reading the story. We are talking about our holy and living God. Prayer is not something we have to ask permission to do. Prayer is what our divine father has given unto us as a means of communication with him. He is more important than life itself. Never be afraid to exercise the gift God has given to you for not only will you find safety in doing, but you will become one with the light of God and his love that no man has the right to deny.

Born Again American is a “nice” song. The sentiment is warm and “fuzzy” and calls all men and women in the US to unite as one in the “spirit” of being American. However, it is a call to a “unity” that God HATES. It’s a call to accept everything without question and call all things holy. But they are not holy. “…how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another. “—Isa 48:11

One line of the lyric reads, “That in this land, the people’s will must have the upper hand”. But God said (Amos 7:8), “I have set a plumbline before my people…” and it is HIS will that must prevail—and it will.

“This people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” — Mat 15:8 -9

The world is full of “doctrines of devils”—ideas that are whispered into the ears of men by demon spirits that men then make into doctrine. But they are lies of Satan, whose greatest tool in the destruction of mankind is twisting and diluting the Word of God and attempting to counterfeit everything God has done.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron…”—1Ti 4:1-2

    We are “there”.

I’m glad I’m not the only person to be leery of that “BornagainAmerican” site. I’ve rec’d the link countless times from e-mail buddies who were beguiled by it and thought it just wonderful. Each time I let them know my unease with it. They think I’m just a “right-wing nut job” and paranoid, I’m sure, but it truly makes me very uneasy.

I’m one of Keith’s subscribers and appreciate his sending this article on.

Bob, this is just the tip of the anti Christian iceberg that is approaching. We Spirit filled Christians are like the bloke with the wheelbarrow – we have the job ahead of us. I went online to the comments about Pastor Nalliah’s comments about God removing His protection from the State of Victoria re the abortion legislation and was actually shocked at the openly expressed hatred of Christianity that was expressed. We are not to remain silent. We are to gird ourselves with The Lord’s spiritual armour and ask Him what we can do that will bless what He is already doing. Do not be discouraged Do not be afraid The Lord your God is with you These are exciting times with great prospects for evangelising
